She Just Gave One Of The Greatest Life Lessons Ever Using An Item You’d Never Expect
A 5th grade teacher just taught her class, and the whole world, a life lesson that should never be forgotten. It’s so simple but that’s why it’s brilliant.
She started by giving her class different bottles of everyday items you would expect to find in a regular bathroom. First was a tube of toothpaste – she told the kids to go nuts and squeeze every single last drop of toothpaste out…
Next she gave another group in her class a bottle of gel – again, she told the group to go wild and squeeze everything out as fast as you can. The kids happily did as she said…
And the final item – a can of shaving cream. Like the others, the kids were told to spray all of it out as fast as possible. (Is anyone else wishing they were in this class now? I’ve always wanted to do this!)
After the teacher had all 3 bottles empty, she then turned to the class and said, ”Now try and put everything back into the containers they came from.”
All the 5th graders tried as hard as they could to get everything back in but it was impossible. The students eventually gave up and looked up at her, puzzled.
She said quietly, “In the moment, you were so consumed with what you were doing that you didn’t realize the mess you were making. Then, after it was so easily and quickly poured out, you realize it’s impossible to put it all back in. Remember this for the rest of your lives when it comes to the words that come out of your mouth.”
What an amazing lesson to be learnt here – not just by 5th graders but by everyone. Remember this advice, words can always be said but it can be so difficult to take back what you’ve said in anger.
