Iskra Lawrence, a beautiful plus-size model, recently encountered a nasty bully on her Instagram. The stranger called her a “fat cow” and things didn’t stop there…
“Fat cow. It’s only cus [sic] every f***er on this planet is obese that that’s the norm … Plus-size models? give me a f***ing breaking [sic],” the stranger wrote. “Everyone needs to stop eating McDonald’s, the NHS is f***ed because of people like her eating too many bags of crisps.”
Wow. Did this person get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning or what? Rather than letting the body shaming continue, Iskra fought back with her own powerful words, along with a photo just for the stranger.
“This is for anyone who has ever been called FAT,” Iskra starts…
“Opinions are like arseholes — everyone’s got one. I eat whatever I want in moderation. I will eat crisps, but I’ll also make healthy home cooked meals and workout regularly.”
“The message is who gives an F what anyone else thinks of you. YOU are the only one who decides yourself worth.”
Her message could not be more on point. And we love the cheeky photo of her surrounded by a bed of snacks to prove her point… brilliant!
We hope that Iskra’s post only further encourages women to be proud of their bodies. Moreover, we think it’s models like her that the fashion industry truly needs to help further promote healthy lifestyles.
