This is Charli Howard. She’s a London model that was recently told by her agency that she’s “too big” to find modeling work. She’s a size 6 by the way.
This is the brilliant response she posted on her Facebook:
The pressure for models to have unnaturally thin bodies is not new but yet the fashion industry still hasn’t changed. But with models like Charli starting to stand up against the industry’s inappropriate standards, the fashion industry may start to question their beauty standards and stop their body-shaming ways.
Charli isn’t just concerned about her own body image but also the larger impact that body-shaming messages can bring about, especially to young teens. Her Facebook post is just the start of things to come.
Share this to your friends and family if you’re against body-shaming!
