Rivers aren’t usually known for having waves to surf on but when this group of guys start digging into the sand, something very unexpected happens. It starts off as a small trench but it quickly grows into a large channel, producing something that can only be described as incredible. It doesn’t take long for the crowds to form for everyone to join in the fun!
This the Waimea River in Hawaii. The river was actually overflowing after a heavy rain spell so the surfers were actually doing a big favor by letting the water back out – all while having fun!
This actually takes some engineering know-how, I can barely build a moat around my sandcastle at the beach!
