Down Syndrome Teen Dreams of Being A Super Model And Undergoes A Body Transformation. Wow

Madeline Stuart is like most other 18 year olds. She likes spending time with friends and chilling out, while also harboring dreams of her career – in her case, she wants to be a fashion model.

However, she has Down’s Syndrome (DS) and typically, people with DS have a lot of difficulty losing weight and are prone to obesity. Madeline was no exception, just last year she was obese due to her condition and unhealthy lifestyle.

None of this came easily to Maddy, she was used to eating a lot and had to break that cycle. It took her two months to create new habits and start exercising.

Maddy recently completed a photo shoot for a clothes company:

“Maddy has never been selfish and worries about everyone. In basketball if someone on the opposite team falls over she will stop playing and help them up,” says Maddy’s mom. “She is amazing, she is so beautiful, and she makes me feel so special. We will be driving in the car in the morning and she will just pick up my hand and kiss it and tell me she loves me and thanks me. Every morning she comes in and cuddles me to start the day.”

“I think it is time people realized that people with Down syndrome can be sexy and beautiful and should be celebrated. Maddy’s boyfriend sure thinks she is sexy and that is pretty fantastic in my book. If the average person could see the beauty Maddy has inside, how loving and caring she is and if that is what people measured beauty on, than most of the models in the world would have Down syndrome. It truly is a beautiful thing.”

Maddy has truly managed to achieve her dreams of being a model and making her own place in the fashion world. It wasn’t easy but she showed the determination and strength to make her dreams happen. You rock, Maddy!
